Heart Nail Art

How to paint a perfect heart...

Start with all of your basic manicure necessities...

nail file, filing block, clippers, cuticle creme, and a cuticle pusher
(I found that a leftover wooden chop stick works great on cuticles and is free!)

After prepping nails, paint your nails your desired color. I decided to try a gray color with a neon yellow heart. I love the yellow and gray combo and wanted to try something different.

Now to make the heart...

You could attempt to free hand this, but I'm not artistic enough for that. So I made a heart stencil using a white adhesive label.

Fold the label in half with the sticky side facing out and cut a half heart shape. Then also cut a smaller half heart shape inside of the heart. When you unfold, you'll have an entire symmetrical heart.
I made a large heart to paint onto my thumb nail. This could be done in varying sizes for different fingers.

Make sure the base coat is completely dry then position the heart stencil and paint.
Let the heart completely dry before removing the stencil. The edges should be pretty straight if poistioned the heart tightly and let it completely dry. But you may need to use a q-tip dipped in polish remover to clean up the edges if they are little messy.

Paint a clear top coat and you're done!
